Whether it’s because of layoffs, personal situations, or the stress of things like performance improvement plans (PIPs), it’s important to take a thoughtful approach to job hunting. Looking back on my early career moves, I wish I had been more intentional about setting goals and knowing what I really wanted before diving into the job hunt. If you have the time and flexibility to be more patient with your search, here’s a checklist to help you find a role that fits your needs and sets you up for long-term success.
